Summary of Research | This project is to support and foster a collaborative research and translation of Korean Classics such as collection of literary works which is closely related to the regions. For this, Institute for the Translation of Korean Classics selects Regional Foothold Institutes for Central Region (Chungcheong, Gangwon), Youngnam Region, Honam Region (including Jeju) respectively. The main purpose of this project is to increase the results of classics translation remarkably and cultivate regional human resources by solidifying the foundation of Korean Humanities. Youngnam Culture Institute is in the process of studying and translating Korean literary works of Youngnam region with Jeompiljae Institute (Pusan National University), The Toegye Studies Institute (Andong National University), The Nammyunghak Study Institute (Gyeongsang National University) and Korean Studies Advancement Center. So far, Gusadangjib, Mokjaejib, and Samiheonjib have been translated and published, and Ibjaejib is currently in the process of translation. Along with this, the chief researcher of Cooperative Translation Project and a head professor of Korean Studies Advancement Center (Daegu athenaeum) take part in the operation of Workshop on Korean Translation of Chinese Writings for non-majors. |
